Lightning everything? In the US, they proposed to unify charging after the EU

of all gadgets, with a similar initiativeThree Democratic senators from Apple’s homeland, the United States, spoke. In their letter to the US Department of Commerce, they called for following the example of the bill from Europe, arguing that consumers need a single standard for chargers, which will help not only reduce the volume of electronic waste, but also the costs of purchasing new chargers.

The body of the letter mentions thatThe average consumer owns about three chargers, but even this does not always help: 40% of respondents said that at least once they faced the inability to charge their device due to the wrong connector. Thus, if the USB-C connector is adopted as a single standard in the US, we can talk about the final end of the history of the Lightning connector.
