Like the Samsung Galaxy Fold: sales of the “clamshell” Motorola RAZR 2019 are postponed

This year, not a single folding smartphone managed to launch on time: Samsung and Huawei had to postpone the launch

sales of Galaxy Fold and Mate X in order to work on bugs and conduct all the necessary tests again. The same fate befell the Motorola RAZR 2019 flip phone.

Why?

The smartphone was supposed to go on sale on December 26 in the US, but first as an exclusive to the Verizon operator. Actual sales were scheduled for January 9th.

Now the manufacturer has announced a postponement of the start of sales.

True, in this case the smartphone does not need to be modified or fixed - it is delayed due to high demand. That is, there were too many people willing to buy a “folding phone” for $1,499.

“Since its announcement in November, the new smartphoneMotorola RAZR has received unprecedented interest from consumers. The high level of demand quickly exceeded the company's initial expectations. Motorola has decided to adjust the pre-sales and launch timing of the RAZR in order to fully meet consumer demand. We are working to determine an appropriate timeline to ensure more consumers have access to RAZR at launch. We do not expect a significant shift from our original availability schedule,” Motorola said in a statement.

True, the company has not announced any new dates yet, but most likely the smartphone will go on sale in January-February.
