List of Huawei and Honor smartphones that will not receive Android 10 update with EMUI 10 shell

Huawei has already updated most of its smartphones to EMUI 10. However, there are some that are relatively not

old models that still run on EMUI 9 and, unfortunately, they definitely won’t receive the new firmware.

Who is on the list

Journalists from Huawei Central talked with the company's technical support and found out that we are talking about 8 devices:

  • Honor play
  • Honor 9
  • Honor 9 lite
  • Honor 8X Max
  • Huawei Y9 2019
  • Huawei Nova 3
  • Huawei Nova 3i
  • Huawei P20 Lite

According to Huawei, all these smartphones will not receivenew software due to hardware limitations (weak hardware). The reason seems strange, especially for the Honor Play smartphone. Let us remember that it was released in 2018 and runs on the top-end Kirin 970 processor. The same chip is installed in the flagships Huawei P20 and Huawei Mate 10, but they will definitely be updated to EMUI 10.
