The Lithuanian authorities are ready to allocate almost half a billion dollars for the purchase of highly mobile artillery

December 15 Lithuanian Minister of Defense ArvydasAnusauskas (Arvydas Anušauskas) during a visit to the United States signed an agreement to purchase eight M142 HIMARS. The American company Lockheed Martin became the executor of the contract, and the preliminary cost of the transaction is approximately $495 million.
It should be noted that the agreement was signedabout a month after approval by the US State Department. The first M142 HIMARS missile systems will be delivered to Lithuania in 2025.

Together with HIMARS, Lithuania will receive several types of missiles. These include ATACMS operational-tactical ballistic missiles, which can hit targets at a distance of up to 300 km.
