Lockheed Martin has produced nine F-35 Lightning II fighters, but cannot transfer them to customers due to the suspension of deliveries

We wrote that the United States Department of Defense has banned the supply of fifth-generation fighters F-35

Lightning II. Because of this, nine new aircraft are idle at the Lockheed Martin plant.

What is known

The American Defense Company was already insimilar situation a few months ago. Following a September supply ban triggered by the discovery of a Chinese magnet, Lockheed Martin produced eight aircraft that remained in the factory for a month.

In the fall, the Pentagon did not ban F-35 flightsLightning II, since the magnet did not cause physical damage to aircraft and could not collect or transmit data. This time the authorities stopped the flights of several fighters after one of them fell on the runway. Therefore, Lockheed Martin cannot switch to receiving flights before sending the aircraft to the customer.

Due to the ban on the supply of fighter jets, the company will not be able to fulfill its obligations under the contract for 2022. Lockheed Martin handed over 141 aircraft to customers instead of 148 units.
