
The United States Department of Defense has signed another support contract with Lockheed Martin
What is known
The value of the December contract was $2.2billion. It is calculated until the end of next year. Under this agreement, Lockheed Martin will provide spare parts, ground handling, periodic maintenance and staff training. Work under the contract will be carried out in the US (Fort Worth, Orlando, Greenville) and in the UK (Sumlesbury).
Lockheed Martin has already delivered 875fifth generation fighters F-35 Lightning II. The planes have been able to fly more than 600,000 hours in total. The list of recent foreign customers includes the Czech Republic, Germany and Switzerland.
