Lockheed Martin showed the longest-range missile for the M142 HIMARS and M270 MLRS - Precision Strike Missile with a launch range of 650 km

The American defense company Lockheed Martin at the AUSA 2022 arms exhibition showed the concept of the longest-range

missiles for the M142 HIMARS and M270 MLRS multiple launch rocket systems.

What is known

We are talking about precision missile Precision StrikeMissile (PrSM). The manufacturer made sure that it can hit enemy targets at a distance of over 499 km. At the same time, Lockheed Martin claims that the maximum launch range of the PrSM will be 650 km.

PrSM will replace the operational-tacticalballistic missile ATACMS. It can hit targets at a distance of up to 300 km. One of the features of the new missile will be the ability to destroy marine and moving objects.

At the end of September, the United States had already ordered54 PrSM missiles. They will be used for testing. The contract value amounted to almost $77.5 million. The UK has already announced its readiness to purchase PrSM, which decided to upgrade the M270 MLRS fleet to the latest modification of the M270A2.
