Previously, at least one fighter demonstrator took to the air. It is also known that at different stages of testing for many years there were three demonstrators of the next generation aircraft at once.
The published drawing is similar to the pictures, previously demonstrated by Lockheed Martin and other defense contractors. In particular, it should be noted similar features in the delta-shaped airframe without vertical and horizontal stabilizers.

The US Air Force wants next yearsign a contract for the development of a fighter. Secretary Frank Kendall (Frank Kendall) believes that the aircraft will cost several hundred million dollars. Due to the high price, only one prototype will be signed under the NGAD program.
The service wants to receive approximately 200 sixth-generation fighters. They will replace the F-22 Raptor. The aircraft is expected to be ready in 2035.
