Ruprecht 106 is a young globular cluster located 69.1 thousand light years from Earth in the constellation Centaur.

Typically stars form in globular clustersin approximately the same place, at the same time, as well as a similar chemical composition of the stars. And in Ruprecht 106 there are stars whose chemical composition is unexpectedly different. A very small number of clusters have the same anomaly, and scientists cannot yet understand why this happens.
