Look at Hyundai's four-legged car that jumps over obstacles

The company is serious about the new project and has built a new center for this purposedevelopment and testing in

Montana.

New Horizons will receive about $20 million inover the next five years and will employ about 50 people. It is located on the Innovation Campus of Montana State University in Bozeman. It is noted that the division is focused on the development of vehicles of increased mobility.

The goal here is to create the mostuniversal off-road vehicles. Specifically, the Elevate will have four electrically driven wheels, each of which will be mounted on articulated legs.

These powerful robotic legs can bendor turn and also spin the wheels completely before they touch the ground. They are also capable of raising or lowering the vehicle to step over objects and climb up and down steep ledges.

Part of the challenge is to develop sensors and a control system that can control all cornering and climbing patterns, resulting in a smooth and comfortable driving experience.

Now the developers are creating a double versionElevate with crew. Hyundai sees it as a disaster relief device. She will be able to move around the destroyed areas and look for the wounded.
