packaging emerged during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, when many were ordering groceries and restaurant meals to be delivered to their homes.

According to him, all perishable products are packaged in large quantities of containers, which then end up in a landfill. The purpose of this packaging is not only to preserve the product, but also the temperature. 

The skin of cephalopods allows them to changecolor and stretch greatly, researchers were interested in this feature. They imitated this approach and added tunable thermoregulation to the material to make it more energy efficient. 

The top layer of the material is made of copper, followed by a regular rubber polymer. After use, it can be recycled - remove the copper with vinegar, and reuse the polymer. 

As a result, the authors obtained materialwhich is recyclable, antibacterial, non-toxic, can be made in large volume, while maintaining elasticity, strength and temperature control.
