European Space Agency astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti photographed the Russian launch

Amanda Kooser, a technology expert for the website CNET, compared it to an “angelic figure with wings spread, rising into orbit,” Alerta Geo reports.

In turn, astronaut Cristoforetti, who will soon take on the role of commander of the International Space Station, wrote: “We saw a breathtaking view of the Soyuz launch.”

“Sergey, Dmitry and Frank will knock on our doorin a couple of hours and we can’t wait to welcome them to their new home!” she added. Now all the astronauts are already on board the ISS and are conducting scientific missions.
