Belgian startup Eeve is developing a robot called Willow X, whose job is to keep things tidy.
The company initially developed the Toadi, an advanced lawn mower. It was later modified to become the Willow Cordless Electric Gardener.
Unlike many robotic lawn mowers,models on the market today, Eeve models do not use perimeter wires or GPS tracking, but rely on CCTV, mapping and obstacle detection. The latest version of Willow is configured and controlled using a companion mobile app.
The robot and the Willow app are ready to go.And, although the assembly quota for 2022 has already been completed, orders are now being accepted for the next batch. The model will be put on the market in January 2023. The price is from 2990 euros (about $3150).
Eeve's engineering team is already in earlyThe next evolution, Willow X, is in development. It will be equipped with two grippy wheels at the front and a stabilizing wheel at the rear. The model will also have a pair of retractable multifunctional manipulators. There's still a lot of work to be done, but the design team has a partially working prototype. The company is already accepting pre-orders for the robot.
So, what will Willow X be capable of when the stageswill development and prototyping be completed? In the company's video, the developers showed the blocky bot picking up fallen debris from a patio and using an attachment to vacuum, as well as heading towards tools.
The model is equipped with a built-in container, and the robotcan use an on-board camera and artificial intelligence to identify and remove weeds from a flower bed and place them in a storage container for later disposal as fertilizer.
Willow X also collects carrots from the garden andhe picks up fallen walnuts and then places the harvest in a box on the patio steps. At the end of his shift, he charges the battery and prepares for the next patrol.
