Look at the giant star bubble

In the photograph, the structure designated Sh 2-305 is a zone of ionized gas.

Radiation in it

occurs in the visible color range of the spectrum due to several luminaries of spectral class O. Such stars are more than ten times heavier and millions of times brighter than the Sun.

Together with five more neighboring nebulae Sh2-305 belongs to the giant complex of dense gas-dust clouds, and on an even larger scale to the colossal ring-shaped star-forming region, the GS234-02 super-shell.
