Loona, a fairly advanced bot that can do a lot of things, is gaining popularity on Kickstarter.
Loona is a 172mm tall four-wheeled robot.with a 2.4-inch LCD screen instead of a face. It has a pair of very cartoonish eyes designed to create the illusion that this bot is indeed a real, living animal. It expresses joy, anger, sadness, curiosity, and a range of other emotions.

Loona features not only its display, but also a pair of glowing ear antennas on the top of its head. They rise with happiness or fall when the robot is “disappointed.”
Loona can act like a real petbelly. For example, freely roaming around the house, responding to affection, coming when called, fetching a ball, chasing a laser pointer, doing tricks, greeting the owner of the house and following him. And also explore the surroundings, sneeze and dance.

Loona is equipped with microphones for voice commandsand cameras for recognizing faces and people, navigating objects, tracking movement, and preventing falls from edges. It can be programmed using an app, making it the perfect robotic pet. It is simple enough to teach users and especially children the basics of programming.
Loona creator KEYi Tech receivesfunding the project using Kickstarter. The startup has raised $1.7 million with an initial goal of $20,000. Early pledges start at $299, which is $150 less than its eventual retail price. If all goes according to plan, shipping should begin in February 2023, or backers can pay extra to receive the robot by Christmas.
