It looks like Sony is winding down production of the PlayStation 4, and stores are selling the last of the consoles

Apparently, the era of eighth generation consoles has already begun to pack its bags, and Sony is gradually winding down

PlayStation 4 production.

PS4 is leaving the shelves

The Japanese company has already launched salesPlayStation 5, but has not yet announced the end of support for PS4. Still, the console clearly doesn’t have much time left. The Japanese gaming store has announced that it has no plans to restock some versions of the PlayStation 4.

The restriction will affect white PS4s with storage500 GB and 1 TB, white PS4 Pro with 1 TB storage, as well as black PS4 with 1 and 2 TB storage. The store cites “discontinuation of production by the manufacturer” as the reason.

It is noteworthy that this is the second messageof such kind. In December, US PlayStation Direct announced that it had no plans to resume shipping the PlayStation 4 Pro. Now the website talks about the depletion of available stocks.

Sony has not yet announced production cutsofficially, and also promised investors to support the PS4 for about three years after the release of the new generation of consoles. Perhaps this is how the company decided to free up the conveyors and deal with the PlayStation 5 shortage.
