At the Sea Air Space 2023 presentation, a representativeThe American company noted that the 155-mm new ammunition can be used by M777 artillery mounts, which have a barrel length of 39 calibers. The maximum flight range of the LRMP is 150 km.
In order for the ammunition to hit the target onthe maximum distance, it must go to a greater height. After that, the projectile is separated from the master device, opens the wings and goes to the object at the given coordinates.
General Dynamics plans to make the first testLRMP until the end of this month, and comprehensive testing will begin at the end of the year. The company also intends to adapt the ammunition for 127 mm naval artillery mounts. In this configuration, the maximum range will be reduced to 100 km.
