Malaysia and Indonesia want to buy Turkish UAVs: it could be Bayraktar TB2 or AKINCI

Turkey has announced that Malaysia and Indonesia are interested in purchasing Turkish unmanned aerial vehicles

devices.

What is known

This was reported by the Reuters news agency, citing Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu.

“Many Asian countries, especially Malaysia andIndonesia is showing great interest in the products of our military-industrial complex. Agreements are being signed." — Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said at a press conference in Tokyo.

It is not yet known which UAVs we are talking about, but we can assume that it will be Bayraktar TB2 or Bayraktar AKINCI.

For those who are not in the know

Bayraktar TB2 is a drumoperational-tactical UAV with an internal combustion engine and a pusher propeller. The drone has up to 4 guided munitions. It is capable of staying in the air for 12 to 24 hours. The maximum control range is up to 150 km. By the way, Bayraktar TB2 is now actively used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the war with Russia.

Bayraktar TB2

Bayraktar AKINCI is a new Turkish drone.It is equipped with two AI-450T turboprop engines developed in Ukraine. The power of each is 750 horsepower. They allow the drone to reach speeds of up to 361 km/h. The cruising speed of the UAV is 240 km/h. The attack drone weighs 5,500 kg and can carry a payload weighing 1,350 kg.
