For the first time, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) was able to

record the sound of a sand vortex on Mars.Perseverance.

What is known

The recording was made back in September last year. During the passage of the vortex, two instruments of the Martian rover were activated at once. The meteorological instrument MEDA worked together with the microphone.

Scientists from NASA found that the height of the dust whirl was 118 meters and a diameter of 25 meters. "Dust Devil" moved at a speed of 40 km / h.
