Martian summer and changing planetary atmosphere didn't stop Ingenuity from taking off

On the Red Planet, the density of the atmosphere has decreased due to the beginning of summer.

Now the drone is in

Jezero crater: the temperature in it is getting higher, so in order to break away from thesurface, need more power.

Despite this, the mission leaders conducted the 14th flight on October 24: it was short and needed only to test the possibilities of take-off in changed conditions.

According to available data, to break away fromthe surface of Mars, the rotor rotated blades at a speed of 2700 rpm, whereas in previous flights for takeoff, rotation of the propeller at a speed of 2537 rpm was enough.

Ingenuity successfully performed a short take-off in its seat, and we tested how the increase in RPM affects the performance of the device as well as its speed. As a result, we have seen that the drone can successfully take off even in less favorable conditions.
