Media: CD Projekt returns money for Cyberpunk 2077, but leaves copies of the game, even “collectibles” for $250

Due to the scandal surrounding Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt RED offered dissatisfied players to issue a refund.

The “refund” took place through a special system, and, as VICE writes, the company acted quite generously.

The return process looked like this:the user filled out the form, received a unique code, wrote it out separately and took a photo, attaching the code to the proof of purchase of Cyberpunk 2077 (a receipt or email from the store). CD Projekt returned the money from its own pocket, and mainly to the PayPal account, although it did not take the copy of the game itself.

In the process of processing a refundit was said that a copy of Cyberpunk 2077 would have to be sent somewhere, but gamers report that no one has taken their games yet. VICE's interlocutor said that he sent CD Projekt RED a digital key purchased in the store, received the money, but the game has not yet disappeared from the Xbox library and is launched.

Even gamers who bought collectibleseditions for $250, received the money back, but no one took the “collectible” itself. At the same time, CD Projekt RED returned the money including tax, if such was expected in the country of the buyer of the special edition. So, one guy received $270 in his account - the cost of the “collectible” plus tax compensation.

At the same time, not all users receivedrefund. The company must deal with refunds by the end of March 2021. In addition, some users were offered to exchange the console version of Cyberpunk 2077 for the PC version, where the game runs more stable.
