Media: Electronic Arts is developing a remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

People started talking about the revival of Knights of the Old Republic back in 2015. For five years, no miracle happened, but, if you believe

sources, fans still have one last hope.

What is known

Editor-in-Chief of the Cinelinx website Jordan Mason, who shared rumors about the game in 2015, again spoke about the return of the franchise. According to the journalist, two independent sources confirmed that the KOTOR remake was put back into development after being frozen in 2016.

It’s just unknown what exactly awaits the players. One source claims EA is preparing a remake, but a second anonymous source says gamers will get a sequel of sorts. It seems that the new project for Knights of the Old Republic will combine elements of the two games in the series, but without quoting them verbatim.

“Not so much a remake as a reimagining,” Mason writes.

The journalist also added that Electronic Artsdecided to use the franchise to its fullest, launching many Star Wars projects. Within the studio, work is underway on sequels to Jedi: Fallen Order and a project for the Nintendo Switch. There are no details about the games yet, so gamers will have to wait for more leaks or E3 2020.
