MediaTek announced a mobile gaming processor Helio 90

MediaTek has officially introduced the Helio 90 line of mobile processors aimed at gaming

devices and flagship smartphones.

What was shown

The manufacturer presented two eight-core models- MediaTek Helio G90 and G90T. The clock speed of the ARM Cortex-A76 and ARM Cortex-A55 computing cores is 2.05 GHz. The graphics in the system are controlled by the ARM Mali-G76 3EEMC4 accelerator with a frequency of up to 800 MHz. It supports displays with resolutions up to 2520×1080 pixels.

Since the processor is aimed at gamingdevice, it implements HyperEngine technology. In addition to a banal increase in performance, it improves image quality, makes in-game movements smoother, and the network connection more stable.

Both chips are compatible with cameras up to 64 resolutionmegapixels, they also work great with dual modules in the 24 + 16 megapixel configuration. Helio 90 can support up to 10 GB of LPDDR3 and LPDDR4x RAM. Small things include support for Wi-Fi 5 (802.11a/b/g/n/ac), Bluetooth 5.0, FM radio, eMMC 5.1 and UFS 2.1 flash drives.

The manufacturer does not specify which smartphones will use the new processors. Also, the difference between the MediaTek Helio G90 and G90T models has not yet been announced.
