MediaTek announces Helio G70 and Helio G70T chips for budget gaming smartphones

MediaTek introduced two new processors with the names Helio G70 and Helio G70T.

New items

are stripped down versions of Helio G90 and HelioG90T. The chips are built on the 12-nanometer FinFET process technology and have eight cores. The productive core is Cortex-A75 (instead of Cortex-A76 in Helio G90T), and the energy-efficient one is Cortex-A55. For the graphics in the new SoC, the Mali-G52 2EEMC2 accelerator is responsible.

Helio G70 and Helio G70T also received supportseveral cameras with a resolution of up to 48 megapixels, screens with a resolution of FHD +, up to 8 GB of RAM LPDDR4x and proprietary HyperEngine technology. It improves chip performance in games. Fifth generation network support was not delivered.

Unfortunately, there is no information how the Helio G70 differs from Helio G70T, but most likely, we are talking about the overclocked frequency of the video accelerator.

When to expect

Devices with new MediaTek processors should be released this year. The first smartphone is rumored to be the Redmi 9.
