MediaTek MT9602: New Quad-Core Processor for 4K Smart TVs

MediaTek today announced its new processor, which will be used in smart TVs.

What is known

The SoC was named MediaTek MT9602.It received four Cortex-A53 cores with a maximum clock frequency of 1.5 GHz and a Mali-G52 MC1 video accelerator. The chip supports up to three HDMI 2.1a ports, Dolby Atmos technology for audio, AV1 and AVS2 decoding, and several HDR standards such as Dolby Vision HDR, HDR10+, BBC HLG, etc.

Among the interesting things in the new product, it is also worth noting the proprietary AI-PQ and AI-AQ technologies, which optimize the picture and sound in real time.

When to expect

Motorola's 4K TVs will be the first to receive the MediaTek MT9602 chip, which should be presented in India on October 9.
