users of the online forum. It turned out that men report problems in relationships more often and worry more about them. Medical Xpress shared details of this study. Discuss

Foreign scientists have analyzed the data for more than184 thousand people who described their relationship problems on the online forum. The researchers tried to understand what difficulties people usually face and who (men or women) mentions these problems more often.

After analyzing demographic characteristics andBased on the psychological characteristics of the selected users, scientists determined which problems were raised by people most often. In the first place were difficulties with communication (every fifth person indicated difficulties with discussing problems, and every eighth with trust). Participants also often talked about the pain caused by problems rather than the problems themselves, using words like “regret,” “breakup,” “crying,” and “heartbreak.”

In addition, men were significantly more likely to applyfor help online and talked about the breakup than women. This means that the stereotype about men being less emotionally involved in relationships is false.

The findings of the study are published in the Journal of Social and Personal Relationships.
