Microsoft will allow almost all Windows programs to run on Apple M1 counterparts

Microsoft has finally announced the launch of x64 application emulation on Windows for ARM. These processors include

such as the Apple M1 and the chips in Surface devices.

For now, emulation is available for testers. They will be able to run x64 programs that were not previously available on devices with ARM processors. This means that Surface Pro Xs owners, for example, will be able to play games like Rocket League or run programs like Autodesk SketchBook. It is, of course, unclear how well they will work.

We will remind, the release of Windows 10 on ARM occurred in2017 year. Then the list of programs consisted of x86 applications. Therefore, developers began to emulate x64 programs so that users can run all applications in the Windows ecosystem.
