Microsoft partners with chip giants Intel, AMD and Qualcomm to announce processor

In computing, a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) is the name of a specification that describes a crypto processor that stores cryptographic keys to protect information.

TPM has long been used to store hardware and cryptographic keys.

The peculiarity of the new Pluton processor is thatall sensitive data will be stored in the processor itself, isolating user credentials, encryption keys, and all personal information from all other computer equipment. This will provide "unprecedented levels of security" for Windows users, Microsoft said.

The release date for the new processor has not yet been set.
