According to Sukhovey, Microsoft can remotely reset encryption codes through the built-in bookmarks and as a result, no one will be able to log into the system and access their data. In such a situation, the company will turn out to be an even worse enemy than hackers, since they do something for the sake of ransom, and Microsoft can do it on purpose, and it will not work out with it.
The consequences of this will be dire, especially forbusiness users, because the information in work PCs is not only expensive, but also affects business continuity. "The complete loss of access to data for the company threatens to completely stop its life."
The expert advised using domestic analogues of BitLocker, which use their own encryption algorithms and do not depend on Microsoft.
"Without any obligation toRussian users, Microsoft, through the built-in bookmarks, can remotely reset encryption codes and deprive millions of users of access to their data. Nobody knows when this will happen. In the current situation, when anything can be expected from foreign software manufacturers, the best solution for users would be to disable BitLocker, ”the expert explained.
