Microsoft Confirms Leaking Windows 11 Image and Submits Formal Complaint Against Google

On June 24, Microsoft is due to present the new Windows 11 operating system. However, a week before the presentation

The image and archive with all the new wallpapers were leaked to the network. Now Microsoft is looking into this issue.

What is known

After the leak, there were different versions of what happened. It was possible that this was just a fake - the assembly of some craftsman. After all, Windows 11 contains a lot of elements borrowed from the current version of Windows 10. It was also voiced that Microsoft itself organized this leak.

However, these versions seem to have nothing in commonin reality, as Microsoft itself hints at. The company filed a DMCA complaint (infringement of intellectual property rights) against Beebom, the site that showed the appearance of the OS.

In addition, Microsoft complained to Google and called on the corporation to remove the original site article from search:

“The Beebom.com article distributes Windows 11 ISO (copyright held by Microsoft). Please remove their article from your search. This is a leaked copy of the unreleased Windows 11."

Thus, Microsoft confirmed the authenticity of the image. But why the leak occurred is still unknown.
