Microsoft is testing a new Edge feature that will make the sidebar even more useful. In Canary version 114.01.1789.0 you
Edge sidebar now has the abilitydisconnect, which allows users to access the Bing AI chatbot and other tools without opening a web page, and the panel will remain open even if you minimize the browser window. According to Windows Central, this feature is only available to a subset of Canary and Dev contributors yet, so it may not be available to you yet.
For those not in the know:
The Edge sidebar contains many usefultools such as the Bing chatbot, image generation service, quick access to email or Office suite, and the like. And all these tools can be customized as you please.
Ability to open sidebar on topother programs can be really useful, for example, when you are working on a document in Microsoft Word and you need to ask something from the Bing AI chatbot. Hopefully the feature will make it to the stable version of Edge.
