Microsoft is not going to close the Xbox 360 Marketplace yet, despite its own statement on the official page
What is known
Earlier this week, Microsoft announced that 7February will remove many of the players' favorite games from the Xbox 360 store. It's a little sad, but thanks to a tweet from Wario64, we learned that the text on the official support page says that the company plans to close the Xbox 360 Marketplace within the next year, and it encourages users buy any games from 360 or DLC as soon as possible before May 2023.
According to Xbox global product marketing manager Bree Adams, this message was a mistake:
"This post was published in error, and we can confirm that the Xbox 360 marketplace will not close in May 2023," Adams said in a statement.Games, add-ons, and in-game content will no longer be available for purchase in select markets through the Xbox 360 Store."
However, even rumors of a closure mean that news of the store's permanent closure may still be coming soon, and you'll have to find another way to play these games.
