Microsoft tests Xbox abusive message filter

Sometimes users are not too polite towards other players and many companies now

trying to fight it. Microsoft is no exception.

What is known

Xbox Insiders Can Now Choose Fromfilters that will automatically block offensive messages. There are 4 filtering levels in total. The benevolent will hide as many offensive expressions as possible. Medium will block messages with bullying. An adult filter will hide only those expressions that are considered truly offensive. To see all notifications, you need to enable the setting without filters.

It is also possible to install varioussettings for requests and messages from friends. So far, the function is available only to testers, but Microsoft plans to make it publicly available this fall. It will work on consoles, PCs and mobile devices with support for 21 languages. Microsoft is going to implement similar filters in profiles, group search, clubs and Xbox activity feeds.
