Microsoft tests Xbox abusive message filter

Sometimes users are not very polite towards other players and many companies are now

are trying to fight this. Microsoft is no exception.

What is known

Xbox Insiders can now choose fromfilters that will automatically block offensive messages. There are 4 levels of filtration in total. The benevolent will hide as much offensive language as possible. The average one will block bullying messages. The adult filter will only hide language that is considered truly offensive. To see all notifications, you need to enable the setting without filters.

It is also possible to install varioussettings for requests and messages from friends. For now, the feature is only available to testers, but Microsoft plans to make it generally available this fall. It will work on consoles, PC and mobile devices with support for 21 languages. Microsoft is looking to roll out similar filters to profiles, group search, clubs, and the Xbox activity feed.
