What is known
More compact laptop equipped with a screen13.5” diagonal with a resolution of 2256 x 1504 pixels. The large version has a 15” diagonal panel with a resolution of 2496 x 1554 pixels. Both use PixelSense touch displays with Dolby Vision IQ support and a 3:2 aspect ratio.
Surface Laptop 5 equipped with Intel Core chipsAlder Lake-U generations. The consumer variant is available with Core i7-1255U (13.5" and 15") and Core i5-1235U (13.5" only). For business customers, the company offers the Core i5-1245U and Core i7-1265U.

Version with 15" display can work for 17hours on a single charge, while the more compact model lasts up to 1 hour longer. At the same time, the latter offers users a finish not only from metal, but also from Alcantara. Both versions are equipped with Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, Surface Connect, Mini-Jack, USB-A (3.1) and USB-C with Thunderbolt 4 support.
Price and when to wait
Microsoft made no exceptions andwill start selling Surface Laptop 5 along with Surface Pro 9 and Surface Studio 2+, i.e. the 25th of October. The Surface Laptop 5 13.5” starts at $1,000. The Surface Laptop 5 15” starts at $1,300. New items received 8-32 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 256-1024 GB SSD.
