Microsoft's Outlook email is now free for all Mac users

Microsoft is making its email client free for Mac users starting today. It is now available

in the App Store, and you no longer needMicrosoft 365 subscription or Office license to use. This is actually a surprising move, but it coincides with Microsoft's efforts to make its email app more suitable for the Internet.

Outlook for Mac has account supportOutlook.com, Gmail, iCloud, Yahoo, and any email service provider that uses the IMAP protocol. In 2020, Microsoft redesigned its Mac and iOS client to meet the latest operating system standards.

Outlook is also optimized for M1 and M2 chips andhas macOS widgets for calendar entries and supports a notification center. Microsoft will also soon add a menu bar view option to quickly view calendar entries in the main Outlook for Mac program.
