Minecraft bans blockchain and NFT – projects related to these systems depreciate

With the advent of NFTs, the world is divided into two camps. Among the opponents of the technology was Mojang, a studio

has released a statement discussing its stance on non-fungible tokens in Minecraft.

The developers have made it clear that blockchain andNFTs have no place in the cubic sandbox. These technologies are contrary to the core principles of Minecraft about association and universal attraction, and also go against the terms of use of the game.

“To provide gamers with a safe andinclusive experience, blockchain technologies are prohibited from being integrated into our servers and client. And in-game Minecraft content, such as worlds, skins, character items, or mods, cannot be used on the blockchain to create a scarce digital asset.”

It's not yet clear how the studio will regulatetokens in Minecraft. However, her announcement has already influenced some of the most popular NFTs in the game. The NFT Worlds project is rapidly losing value (tokens have fallen in price from $4,500 to $2,100 apiece on average), and gamers are trying to get rid of assets as quickly as possible.

The creators of the project admitted that they did not expectsuch a Mojang solution. They tried to contact Microsoft to find out the reasons and find an alternative solution. If the negotiations fail, the company has an escape route - most likely, the platform will be transferred to another game similar to Minecraft.
