Mini TV Shows The Simpsons Nonstop: It Was 3D Printed

Brandon Withrow, known on Reddit as buba447, shared a new video in which he demonstrated

tiny working TV from the living roomSimpsons. Not only does it have an identical design. It also reenacts episodes from the first 11 seasons of the series. The authentic TV volume knob works, too. As Withrow explains on Reddit, the power button doesn't pause the current episode: “The episodes just play continuously. I wanted to create a TV that always works. The GPIO input only turns the screen on and off."

Now the inventor is working on a completea guide to help everyone create their own miniature copy of the Simpsons TV. So far, he posted his main specs on Reddit. The TV itself was designed and modeled using Autodesk Fusion 360, and the Ender 3 Pro 3D printer was used to create all the plastic parts of the set.

Considering that The Simpsons was not released in highresolution and widescreen format until season 20, Withrow easily stuck to the 4:3 aspect ratio, which was perfect for the show's first 11 seasons. The 640×480 TFT display is hidden behind a curved frame, which makes it look like the convex glass of a classic CRT. Hidden inside the device is a Raspberry Pi Zero with 32 GB microSD, which is used for multimedia storage.
