Missiles for the Russian MLRS "Tornado-S" will be equipped with drones for electronic warfare

Russian Tornado-S multiple launch rocket systems will receive missiles equipped with drones with

electronic warfare function. The drones will be placed inside the missiles. Discuss

Such missiles are necessary to suppress the work of counter-battery stations - so as not to risk aviation with electronic warfare systems. UAVs built into missiles will be disposable.

Such drones will go deep behind enemy lines, and after reaching a given area, drones will be able to interfere with the operation of radar stations and jam radio signals.

According to military expert Alexei Leonkov,counter-battery combat stations are usually located in a band of up to 50 km. If electronic warfare equipment can operate at such a range, the drone will not need to fly into enemy positions. The device will be able to detect anti-aircraft systems and transmit coordinates for striking.

“If a station of this kind is detected, thenyou need to stop her from working. And at the same time, provide coordinates for the multiple launch rocket system so that it can accurately destroy the object with missiles. In fact, we can say that "Tornado-S" in the future it may become a counter-battery system. The main thing is to have a suitable drone,” Leonkov noted.
