Mojang and Warner Bros. working on Minecraft

The premiere of the film is scheduled for March 4, 2022.

What will be the movie

Studios have been working on Minecraft adaptations since 2014

years, and at some point it was expected that shewill be released this year. On April 16, Mojang published a new release date in a blog post. The director was Peter Sollett, who won an award at the Cannes Film Festival in 2000 for Five Feet and Up.

Minecraft will be a story about a teenage girl and heradventurer friends. They must save their block world from the evil Ender Dragon. Mojang Studios are game developers first and foremost, so it will be interesting to see their experiment with film. On their blog they wrote:

“The film must be different from the game (otherwiseIn this case, you'll be treated to an endless tape of very low resolution), but one thing will definitely be the same. We want to make a movie the same way we make a game—for you.”
