Mojang did not master: “super-duper” textures in Minecraft will not

Minecraft developer Mojang has officially canceled the “Super Duper Graphics Pack” announced at E3 2017 as a downloadable item

updates.

Why

The graphics package should have improved the lighting andshadows, reflective water surfaces, textures of flora and fauna, and bring 4K resolution to the Xbox One X. According to Mojang, the package was found to be too technically complex and the studio was unhappy with how it performed across devices. Initially, the update was planned to be released in the fall of 2017, then it was postponed to 2018, and now it has been completely canceled.

Minecraft with its current graphics works wellon almost any system, which is one of its main advantages. And with the addition of realistic textures and lighting, optimization problems may arise. Most likely, Mojang simply decided not to take risks.

But there is still hope for graphical updates. In its post, the studio noted:

“Minecraft is available on a wide range of platforms, and we are constantly trying to make the most of the technical architecture of each of them. Very soon we will tell more information on this subject. ”
