More action and less noise. This is approximately how the Ugreen HiTune X6 model can be characterized. We've already seen the previous one
Ugreen HiTune X6
TWS Headphones with Hybrid Active Noise Canceling
Affordable TWS headphones with hybrid activenoise reduction (but no transparency mode). They look strict, stand out with an unusual shape, have a game mode with minimal sound delays and an advanced touch control system. ACP does not work as efficiently as we would like and there is not enough aptX support, but lovers of rich bass will like the sound.

3 reasons to buy Ugreen HiTune X6:
- hybrid active noise cancellation system;
- touch buttons support volume control and a number of other functions;
- the shape of the headphones is quite unusual, and may be especially comfortable for you personally.
3 reasons not to buy Ugreen HiTune X6:
- ACP efficiency is inferior to more advanced models;
- touch control requires some skill;
- you are used to headphones of a different design and do not want to change it.
What is in the box?
In the box we put headphones in a charging boxand USB-C charging cable, there are also two sets of interchangeable ear pads: small and large. The third, middle one, is already installed in the headphones. There is a printed instruction and a safety guide. It is convenient that a memo on controlling the headphones is placed on the cardboard cover of the box. You don’t have to dig into the instructions to deal with all these tapas, I’ll talk about them in detail later.

What do they look like?
Ugreen HiTune X6 have the same form factor asand X5. They do not completely fit in the auricles, but they do not have separate protruding "legs". I can’t say if this is good or bad, it’s more a matter of personal preference.

Each earphone has three microphone holes.The talk mic is at the bottom, the external ANC mic is at the top, and the internal ANC mic is closer to the ear cup. The last two are used to analyze surrounding sounds and what the user hears. There are contacts for charging near the speaking microphone, and next to them there is an R or L mark on the right and left earbuds, respectively.

The headphones themselves, like the charging box, are black and gray.The outer gray surface is matte and hides the touch button underneath. The rest of the body is made of glossy black plastic. By the way, the blue LED hidden in the upper part of each earphone is completely invisible. It flashes only when connected and is apparently not used for anything else.

But the charging box outside is completely matte,Only the headphone cradle and the Ugreen logo on the top cover are glossy. Unlike HiTune X5, the charging port is located not on the bottom, but on the back side of the charging box, thanks to which it can be charged while standing. There is also a round button to activate the connection mode. On the front panel there is a status LED that resembles a smiley face. In general, the strict black and gray color scheme suggests business, “professional” use. But the tactile part is a little short of a real “business class”: the charging box cover has a slight play.

How to connect and configure?
HiTune X6 use standard mechanismBluetooth connections. When you open the charging box, the headphones are ready to connect through the list of available devices on your smartphone or other audio source. An alternative option is to press the button on the back, which will force the "pairing" mode. No additional software is required. However, he is not there.
How are they managed?
Management HiTune X6 is dedicated to the managementa separate memo located in the most prominent place inside the box. It is here as fancy as in the already familiar X5 model, but there is another gesture responsible for activating noise reduction. The ACP is turned on or off with a long (but not very long, about one second) touch of any of the headphones. An even longer (already two seconds) touch calls up your smartphone voice assistant. With exactly the same gesture, you can reject an incoming call, which is convenient. And to answer it, just touch any earphone once.
Double taps on left and right headphonesare used to decrease and increase the volume respectively. Triple taps using the same principle allow you to switch to the previous and next track. There is even a quadruple tap. It can be performed on either headset and turns on and off the gaming mode with reduced latency.
Mastering this gesture system is easier than it could beappear at first glance. The most controversial aspect of it is the single touch. On the one hand, this is very convenient, but on the other hand, it is fraught with false alarms when trying to adjust the earphone. Again, it’s a matter of habit: it’s more convenient for someone. There is no location sensor in the ear; when you remove the earphone, the pause does not automatically turn on.
How are they at work?
In general, there is nothing unusual, but there are momentswhich are worth paying attention to. The complex control system is complemented by voice prompts that help you better understand what is happening. When turned on, the headphones say “Power On”; when connected to a wireless signal source, they say “Bluetooth Connected”. Turning active noise cancellation on or off is accompanied by “ANC On” and “ANC Off” prompts, respectively.
Noise reduction should be discussed separately.Despite the low price of the device, it is really present here and the separate microphones mentioned above are provided for it. Since the microphones are located both on the inside and on the outside of the earpiece, the noise reduction system is called “hybrid”, this should ensure its higher efficiency. In practice, an estimate of 35-40 dB of noise compensation seemed to me somewhat overestimated. In reality, of course, there is an effect from the ACP system, but it is noticeably inferior to headphones from higher price ranges. If you want a real noise killer, don't expect $40. But otherwise, the noise reduction is working, it’s better with it than without it, and it really wasn’t enough in the HiTune X5.

What about autonomy?
Taken out of the box, the headphones can work up tosix o'clock. Charging from the battery installed in the box can extend their autonomy up to 26 hours. It is impossible to assess the degree of charge of the box itself, the manufacturer abandoned the previously used three-stage indicator. In this model, it was replaced by a “smiley” LED, which starts to glow red when it is time to charge the box and pulsates with white light when the headphones installed in the box are charging. A full charge of the box takes about two hours. It uses a modern USB-C interface, but wireless charging options for this price are not yet offered to us.
How do they sound?
The sound is provided by standard headphonesthese types of 10mm drivers. Both in terms of price range and class (inexpensive headphones with ANC) HiTune X6 are very similar to HiTune T3, the more obvious is the direct comparison in sound between these two models. And here the X6 is definitely brighter. The mid-frequency range is not as expressive, but the bass, as well as the high frequencies, sound richer and more emotional. Considering that this is a model for everyday household use, this is quite interesting. The game mode with reduced latency (the same one that is activated by tapping it four times) noticeably reduces the sound quality, but does not radically affect the latency. Probably because these same delays, in general, are not noticeable. Perhaps in some hardcore gaming scenarios you may encounter them, then this mode will help you.
How comfortable are they?
Know how to check the fitTWS headphones? Try to make a funny call in them, at least for 15 minutes. Yes, it’s funny, you need to talk a lot, smile and laugh. Such characteristic facial expressions and corresponding movements of the muscles and skin of the face can lead to a displacement of the headphones, after which they have to be corrected. Everyone's ears are different, so certain models (and even with different-sized ear pads) may suit you to a greater or lesser extent. I would rate the comfort of using the HiTune X6 as "above average". The earphones are light and fit well in the ears. However, their shape takes getting used to if you have used headphones of a different design before.

In the dry residue
If Ugreen HiTune X5 featured Apt-X codec, but therelacked noise reduction, then with the X6 model, the opposite is true. There is noise reduction, but Apt-X is not. In addition, noise reduction itself is inferior in efficiency to more advanced models and for some reason does not have a transparency mode provided even in the younger HiTune T3 model (here is their review). But the design and shape of the X6 can be an important argument in their favor.
Three things to know about Ugreen HiTune X6:
- these are affordable TWS headphones with an interesting shape and a strict business design;
- they have an active noise reduction mode, but its effectiveness is inferior to more expensive models;
- There are many types of touch buttons to control playback and headphone functions.
