In a release on the YouTube channel, Miyconst checked what performance the GTX 1060, RTX 2080 and RX video cards can provide
The host of the Miyconst YouTube channel testedthree build options in several modern games in 1080p, 1440p and 4K resolution. Core i3-12100, i7-12700K, Xeon E5-2666 processors with GTX 1060, RTX 2080 and RX 6800XT video cards took part in testing. The games included Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Far Cry 6, Rainbow Six Extraction, Watch Dogs Legion, F1 2021, Hitman 3, Horizon Zero Dawn, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Total War: Three Kingdoms.
With GTX 1060 on high settingsgraphics in 1080p resolution there is almost no difference in performance between assemblies. The same thing can be seen with the medium preset at 1440p. All measurements – below.

With a more powerful RTX 2080 graphics card, performancePerformance at 1080p with the ultra/high preset is already different. For example, the E5-2666 processor lags behind the others in the games Far Cry 6, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, F1 2021, sometimes – approximately 30 fps. At the same time, in some projects the leader is the assembly based on the i3-12100 (F1 2021, Horizon Zero Dawn).
When moving to 1440p with the samegraphics settings, the performance gap between configurations is noticeably reduced. In almost all cases, the frame rate becomes almost identical. The difference is most noticeable only in Far Cry 6.

The real difference between all the build optionsvery noticeable with the RX 6800XT video card. In this case, at 1080p with the high/ultra preset in Far Cry 6, the E5-2666 becomes half as slow as the i3, and the i3 – twice as slow as i7. The performance here is almost identical only in Assassin's Creed Valhalla: 137 fps, 139 fps and 141 fps with Xeon E5-2666, i3-12100, i7-12700K, respectively.
At 1440p the difference between i3-12100 and i7-12700Kbecomes less significant. However, the E5-2666 is still much slower than its competitors. Approximately the same performance indicators in this case were obtained in two games: Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Watch Dogs Legion.
In 4K with ultra / high settings, the expert only launched builds based on the i3-12100 and i7-12700K. As you can see from the results below, in terms of FPS, these configurations are almost no different from each other.

Conclusion
In general, if you buy a GTX 1060 6 graphics cardGB, it doesn't matter which processor you use, as in games all models will show the same results. If you want to get an RTX 2080 or RX 6800XT, then for a comfortable game you need to take at least an i3-12100. True, between the i3-12100 and i7-12700K there will be a strong difference in performance only at 1080p.
