Usually we keep aside the fire of such prices, confessing the principle “we are not rich enough to pay money for cheap things”, but the first experience was positive, why not get to know more about another device.

Headphones arrived even when the MPOW review was writtenT5, so a couple of weeks lay idle in a plain-looking cardboard box. Which, by the way, can also be regarded as a good sign - instead of puffing up cheeks and building from oneself who you are not, the manufacturer decided to save on packaging by making it extremely simple. In general, such a move looks logical - let them save (and at such a price they obviously saved something on something) on the packaging, which will still go to the recycle bin for paper processing than on the device itself. Inside, there was only “the most necessary”: the MPOW H5 headphones themselves, a charging cable, a suede pouch for carrying (folding headphones), a cable with 3.5 mm plugs in case the battery sits down and you need to turn into wired headphones without noise reduction; English and Japanese, a card (it was the same in a box with MPOW T5), reminding that headphones are forbidden to be charged with a charger that delivers more than 5 volts (not a superfluous reminder in the age of fast chargers) and a fun card showing that they can be connected to a TV using a Bluetooth adapter. In this case, the manufacturer does not show off and does not put in the box usual in such cases, the adapter for the aircraft seat. First, it is necessary to transfer this cost to the buyer, and secondly, it is unlikely that the buyer of such headphones often flies in airplanes.

Cable length 1.2 meters (by the way, for the first time in my life I measured it with a ruler, because in the description I met suspiciously wrong 0.3 meters, which obviously did not correspond to the truth) made flat, which in practice leads to the fact that it is much less confused than cables with a circular cross section .

What do MPOW H5 look like?

Headphones look cute - ear cushions likelaid, soft and comfortable to wear. The outer part of the headband plastic soft touch, practical (easy to clean) and pleasant to the touch. Movable mechanical elements are metal, with fixation in the working position. They look safe, in any case for more than a month of daily use, they are not loose. The outer part of the headphones is also made of soft touch plastic, but, in my opinion, this is spoiled by this polished decorative plate, which is too mark to play its presentable role. Although its wavy shape is remembered, of course.

On the left earpiece are a microphone, portmicroUSB for charging with status LED, volume control keys and a separate Bluetooth button, which plays the role of switching on. The right earpiece contains a noise cancellation switch (ANC - Active Noise Cancellation), a jack for the cable and an LED indicator for the operation of the noise cancellation system. The controls are the same as on any other wireless headset - long pressing the volume keys moves to the next or previous song. To answer the call or play / pause, press the button with the Bluetooth icon. To reset an incoming call - long press.

LED during connection every 5 secondslights up blue, saying that everything is in order (at night it can be annoying, by the way). During the incoming call it glows red. If there is no incoming call, and the LED color is red, then it’s time to charge the headphones. Although they themselves begin to warn about the charge for 10-15 minutes before turning off. During charging, the LED is also red, changing to blue after the battery is fully charged.

Headphone cups rotate 90 degreesaround the vertical axis and may shift by 40 degrees inside the headband. In general, everything looks good and does not bode unpleasant surprises, except for the brand of the outer plate.

I would also like to say a separate kind word aboutmaterials. Usually the softness of the components that come into contact with the skin is directly proportional to the price of the headphones. The first thing I do when I pick up full-size headphones is I feel embouchures. Expensive models like the Philips SHB98850NC or Plantronics BackBeat Pro, not to mention the Sony WH-1000XM3 reference, are soft and tender. In this case, the softness and comfort are not discouraging, but very decent, especially considering the price of MPOW H5. In general, the credit of trust, pledged by the first acquaintance with the manufacturer, justifies itself further.

How MPOW H5 sound

Frankly, I did not have absolutelyno expectations from the operation of these headphones, it was just interesting - is it even possible to create full-size closed headphones with noise reduction for $ 45 and where can there be a catch? The trick did not turn out - the sound, of course, is not at the highest level, but I like their sound even without looking at the price. There are bass, the detailing is not as deep as that of the models for 100,500 money, but the sound is very decent, forcing attention and in case I’m definitely ready to recommend them for buying for modest money.

The operation of the noise cancellation system is quite noticeable. You will not believe it, but I came across more expensive models of full-size headphones, which, when you turn on the noise reduction system ... nothing happens. Here, of course, there is no acoustic deaf room, as in Sony WH-1000XM3, adored by me, which cannot be overplayed, but I am the first headset with such a price tag that really have a noise not only in words.

How often should I charge MPOW H5

They sent me a version updated this year.headphones, which has significantly increased battery life - from 18 to 30 hours of music playback (with noise cancellation turned off). And even in the user's manual, without further ado and without bothering to print a new booklet, a piece of paper with new characteristics is simply pasted over the old ones. In practice, with noise cancellation turned on, I charged them every three days using a full-time job. That is, hours 20-25 they worked with noise reduction. I charged them 2.5-3 hours.

What else can headphones MPOW H5

No special features on these headphones anymore.no (for example, NFC, support for AptX or some voice assistant there with the application), but they support the rare but useful multipoint feature, that is, simultaneous connection via Bluetooth with two devices. This can be useful for those who listen (like me, for example) to music during the day from a work computer, but do not want to miss a call on the phone. Plus, such full-size headphones still buy for listening indoors than on the street. By the way, on the street during the sultry period in mid-June, it was really hot in them on the street, headphones are clearly not for the tropics. But in the winter, apparently, on the contrary, more pleasant.

In the dry residue

Headphones MPOW H5 with its not very, rightlet's say, the high price is surprisingly decent sound and (what is even more surprising, although it is not in the first place) good materials and competent engineering work. Despite the fact that their main advantage is their price (in this price segment to meet noise-canceling headphones, frankly, a rarity), they still provide a really long battery life and honestly work out every penny spent on them. Among the shortcomings, it is worth noting the lack of support for aptX, which has already become the de facto standard for fans of wireless sound, and of pleasant things is the possibility of simultaneous Bluetooth connection to two devices.
