NASA cannot fix the Hubble error. The telescope was put into safe mode

Scientists from NASA said that they cannot yet organize the payload of the Hubble telescope.

The system went down on June 13, andThe operations team was unable to either restart the computer on June 14 or switch to a backup memory module. Now they have failed to do this with both modules.

The telescope and its scientific instruments are still in "good condition." However, scientists put the telescope into safe mode.

This is not the first such failure this year.In March, NASA spent several days turning on the Hubble after a software error in the main on-board computer. It has also been found that over the decades, the voltage level on a wide-angle camera has dropped so much that it needs to be raised to prevent future problems.

As with this camera, age canplay a part in this latest glitch. The Hubble payload system uses the 1980s Standard Spacecraft Computer-1 (NSSC-1), which includes two computers and four 64K CMOS memory modules. Only one computer and memory module is being used at a time, but all components are out of order.
