NASA postponed the mission to the Moon due to a hurricane. Water found in rocket

The space agency announced the need for additional testing of the lunar mission launch vehicle

Artemis after Hurricane Ian. Preliminary tests showed water penetration under the ship's hull.

NASA planned to send an unmanned spacecraftthe first part of the Artemis mission on September 27, but Hurricane Ian interfered with these plans. A powerful tropical storm that hit southwest Florida forced space agency engineers to return the spacecraft from the launch pad back to the spacecraft assembly hangar.

Engineers checked the condition of the ship.Initial data shows that the mission's flight equipment was not damaged and the equipment is in good condition, but minor water intrusion into the rocket body was detected in several places.

Engineers will continue to test, launch vehicles, launch and spacecraft systems. In order to avoid possible mistakes, they decided to abandon plans to send the mission in October and focus on preparing for the launch window, which will be open from November 12 to 27. Exact dates have not yet been announced.

Recall that this is not the first time that NASApostpones the launch of the lunar mission. The first attempt at the end of August ended when engineers discovered a hydrogen leak. Previously, Hi-Tech spoke in detail about NASA's planned lunar mission.
