NASA sent the Orion spacecraft to the moon on the third attempt

After two failed attempts, NASA successfully launched its mega-rocket heading towards the Moon. First flight

new mission to explore naturalEarth's satellite passes without a crew. The Orion spacecraft will fly 64,000 km beyond the far side of the Moon and back - further than any other manned spacecraft.

The main objective of the mission: to test all systems, if successful, the next similar flight will take place with the crew. Previously, Hi-Tech talked about how the Artemis mission would go.

Space Launch System launch vehicle launched fromKennedy Space Center in Florida at 1:47:44 AM EDT (09:47:44 AM BST). After 12 minutes of flight, the Orion spacecraft separated from the launch vehicle and entered the assigned orbit. NASA later announced that all four of the ship's solar arrays had successfully deployed.

You can watch the movement of the Orion spacecraft inreal-time on a special website created by the US space agency. In addition, 24 cameras—eight on SLS and 16 on Orion—are installed on the launch vehicle and spacecraft to document key mission events, including launch, lift, solar array deployment, rocket external checks, landing, and recovery. It is expected that the ship will also be able to send new images of the Earth and the Moon.

A successful launch came after two unsuccessful ones.attempts in late August and early September. The first, on 29 August, was canceled when gauges showed that one of the four main stage motors had not cooled down properly. NASA engineers believed that this problem was caused by incorrect operation of the sensor. On 3 September, hydrogen leaks were discovered during refueling prior to a restart.

After troubleshooting, NASA wasforced to wait until the hurricanes Yang and Nicole pass, the first of them found the launch vehicle on the launch pad. Although they did not cause significant damage, the launch mission was delayed.
