NASA showed the movement of dust devils in the desert on Mars

NASA's Perseverance rover captured three images of dust devils where it landed in 2021 to help

start searching for signs of ancient life. We are talking about the Jezero crater, which in the past was a lake.

According to NASA, the rover took the images on July 20.2021, on the 148th Martian day or sol of the mission. To do this, he used the M2020 navigation camera. Since then, scientists at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) at the California Institute of Technology have improved the images. The goal is to maximize detail at the expense of color distortion.

Since the photos were taken approximately 15 seconds apart, they are in GIF format. The footage shows whirlwinds, or dust devils, circling the dusty plains of Mars.

Now earthlings can see in detailthe area where NASA and SpaceX plan to send humans in the next decade. The space agency believes that the rover is most likely to find signs of ancient life in the Lake Lake crater. The fact is that the delta naturally collected river sediments, including nutrients, when water flowed on the surface of the Red Planet.

NASA's JPL laboratory not only processed the images, its engineers also built and operated the Perseverance rover.
