NASA thinks there's enough wind on Mars to power small groups of people

Experts from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) believe that

that the first humans on Mars would be able to generate electrical energy from the wind.

What is known

Scientists from NASA conducted a simulation of atmosphericmovements of the Earth in accordance with the conditions and relief of Mars. For the study, data collected over the entire period of observation of the Red Planet were used.

The simulation showed that the powerful turbinecapable of providing year-round electrical energy to a group of colonists, consisting of a maximum of six people. The scientists also noted that wind turbines can be lifted into the air using balloons, so as not to build special towers.

The issue of providing electricity is oneone of the key points when it comes to colonizing the polar regions of Mars, where there is not enough sunlight. The use of wind generators in such places is an alternative option without the risk of a nuclear catastrophe, while current plans involve the use of portable nuclear reactors.
