New research helped identify 101 new genes with 95 percent confidence, Bruce said
The authors of the new work have created softwaresoftware called Candidate Explorer (CE): it uses a machine learning algorithm to identify chemically induced mutations that may cause immune system disorders.
The new software determines the likelihood that a specific mutation causes problems in the mammal's body.
Bitler said that the new AI will helpresearchers predict whether a mutation associated with a phenotype is harmful. Candidate Explorer has already helped identify hundreds of genes with novel functions in immunity. This will improve our understanding of how the immune system works and help us find new ways to improve its functioning.
In order to understand the functions of certainmutations, the algorithm learns: it recreates a specific mutation in a new pedigree and tests a hypothesis about its functioning and causality. This way you can evaluate the potential functionality of the mutation.
