New biodegradable polymer tattoo ink disappears after one year

After six years of development, Ephemeralhas created an ink composed of biodegradable polymers that dissolve naturally in a period of 9 to 15 months. The application process is similar to a conventional tattoo.

Josh Sahai, one of the three co-founders of Ephemeral, developed the formula for the unique ink in a laboratory in Milford, USA, in collaboration with dermatologists.They only used products that are approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Regulatory Agency. Sahai assures that like permanent tattoos, ephemeral tattoos do not dissolve or blur from time to time. Instead, he says, the lines remain crisp and the design fades evenly.

An ephemeral tattoo parlor is open in Brooklyn, New York. For now, only black ink is available, but other colors are expected.

An ephemeral tattoo costs between $ 175 and $ 450.
